Karens — we can’t get away from them, and the internet can’t seem to get enough of them.
One TikTok creator, @mrwa043, caught the end of a nasty rant given by a fellow subway passenger in a now-viral video. According to some eyewitnesses, this woman’s astonishing behavior was bad enough that she was ordered to get off the train and never to return.
Let’s take a look at how this unfortunate situation came to be.
According to the TikTok creator, the woman in question verbally attacked her and her mother while on the train to Hartford in the evening. The video, which is titled “Hijabis Verbally Attacked On the Train,” begins with the woman being filmed waving her hand about manically.
“We simply got on the train as we usually do, completely minding our own business, when this woman stepped on and sat directly next to us,” she explained in the video’s caption. “The moment that she sat down, she began complaining about illegal immigrants and how Obama is the one responsible for allowing foreign exchange students into the United States.”
Continuing on, she began talking about how foreign exchange students don’t have the right to live in the country and how they overstay their visas. She even went on to say how these “illegal people” aren’t put in check by law enforcement, which should be looking at their status.
“At that moment, my mom turned to me,” said the TikTok creator. “Does she think that we’re students?” she asked.
The TikTok creator knew that her commentary was ignorant, and she tried to laugh it off.
However, the woman’s hate speech began getting worse, spouting off opinions on children’s sexualization and white supremacy. She decided to begin recording, as she feared for her safety. “There were plenty of passengers sitting around us that told her to stop in our defense, and many even got off on one of the stops to inform employees.”
At that point, the woman was told to exit the train.
According to the creator, the woman was told never to come back on the train again, and she and her mother got to enjoy a wonderful day trip in Boston.
In a follow-up video, in which she can be seen walking around Boston and enjoying the various delights the city has to offer, she expressed her gratitude for the train employees and the passengers onboard who stood in their defense.
“We appreciate you for doing what’s right!” she said. “You guys are the true heroes!”
There’s no doubt that they did what was right, and you can even see a man, who we assume is the train’s conductor, approaching the Karen to remove her from the train. Even though multiple people witnessed her abhorrent behavior, she pretended that she never said anything racist or rude to the woman filming.
Although he admitted to not being able to physically remove her from her seat, the conductor did tell her to “never get back on his train again.”
